Sailing reports

On Sunday 22th August, I sailed at Shirehampton for the Challenge Shield race. The sailing conditions were not that great i.e. very light wind, sunny, medium tide (11m) and about average temperature. In addition, it was a pursuit race. The first two boats started but could not cross the line. I managed to cross the line and with the roll tacks, I managed to arrive half way the first buoy. When I was almost level to the first buoy, the wind dropped even further. I managed to drift on the other side of the river to pass the buoy. The tide pushed me towards the second buoy when the race was finished. In summary, it was not an exiting race but my roll tacks were not too bad as I managed to progress towards the first buoy. However, it is not a race to remember.
